Austin GIS presents information that can be helpful for people interested in Austin's development. You can see streets, subdivisions, zoning maps, jurisdictional boundaries, floodplain locations, watershed boundaries and their classifications.

This site also provides the information behind the maps. For instance, you can zoom into a particular area of town and query the registered neighborhood organizations with their contact people including addresses and phone numbers.

Mayor and City Council Member Web sites

City Council meets at City Hall, 301 W. 2nd Street. Meetings begin 10 a.m. on most Thursdays. Austin City Council meetings are broadcast on municipal TV cable Channel 6 and also simulcast on KAZI-88.7 FM radio starting at 1:30pm. Council meetings are also streamed live on the Web on the Channel 6 Web site.

There are seven members on the Austin City Council: one Mayor and six Council Members. The entire Council is elected at large by the voters of the City. Each member serves a staggered three-year term.
